Ohio is home to Safe Harbor, a place of hope and healing for child survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation

Child Sex Trafficking in Ohio and the US

Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST) is an under-reported, underground crime. The data on the subject is hard to obtain and often just a snapshot in time, or particular to a specific region.

The hard numbers we do have for each state  -- reported cases and prosecutions -- reflect population size, local awareness and training.

The exception is the state of Ohio.

Child sex trafficking is a community problem that requires a community response to make an impact. While we try to figure out the causes and solutions, the individual children who have been commercially sexually exploited have a dire need for long-term, rehabilitative care.

Meet our initial community partners who have committed to help build a place of hope and healing for child survivors of sex trafficking.
